Extremely
good album by this excellent Indiana-based Southern rock outfit.
This is a cracking album of top-class Southern rock from a band that
are good enough to be up there with the likes of the Charlie Daniels
Band, Montgomery Gentry, Van Zant et al.
The superb "I'm Tired" is the second single to be released from the
album in the States, and is getting very strong radio airplay, and I
am not surprised! It is a fantastically catchy semi-rock tune, with
a great beat and wonderful guitar and keyboards throughout. The
first single also garnered massive radio airplay, with the video
landing in rotation on Great American Country (GAC). That first
single is the title track to this album, and is also a very catchy
tune that really kicks...!
In fact most of the songs on this terrific CD are quite catchy, such
as "Can You Hear Me Now" and the pacey rocker "Whose Money Do You
Think This Is."
With all the rocking tracks on the album, Roger and the band also
prove that they can play ballads as well. "My Heart Cries" is a
very fine ballad, although not a slow tune as such, as it has a
quick piano tune playing throughout. "Satisfied Mind" is probably
more the normal paced kind of ballad , although even that builds up
tempo wise quite nicely.
Roger was actually tipped for stardom a few years back, but was
struck down by illness. After giving up music so as to concentrate
on the grueling treatment that he needed to undergo, he was then
given the all-clear health-wise. Once given the ok he got himself
back into music and formed this first-rate band which also includes
his two sons Brandon and Jesse. This is his second chance to go for
stardom, and if this album is anything to go by then that goal
should not be far away.
